Feature & Follow #1: How many books have you got on your TBR list?

FeatureandFollowFriday

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

This is the first time I'am joining this feature and I hope to meet all of this amazing book blogger around the globe..**WINK

This Week's Question:
How many books have you got on your TBR list?
Suggested by Obsessive Compulsive Reader

I'am not sure exactly how many books I've got on my TBR list. I use Goodreads to keep track of it. While I have a separate pile(Physically) on my own shelf in my room, and that is the only organized place you can find in my room.

My TBR list keeps getting higher and higher every day. Why? Oh it's because when I saw a book, either online or physically(through bookstore), and I can't buy it yet.. I'll add it in TO-read Shelf in Goodreads right away so I won't forget it. I don't read my physical books right away, I think because of my personal sentiments, I prefer to read all of my books in my IPAD first, but I don't see that happening anytime soon, that keeps getting higher and higher as well...

How about you?

Easton doesn’t believe in love. He believes in Death. Darkness. Sin. As a reaper for Hell, it’s all he’s known for over four hundred years. When he gets slapped with the job of training the boss’s daughter, an angel who knows nothing but joy, he knows he’s in for a world of trouble.

Though he’s made it clear he wants nothing to do with her outside of work, Gwen would do anything to get closer to the dark and wounded reaper—even taint her angelic image and join the ranks of her father’s team of reapers. But in all her planning, she forgot to factor in one thing—how far the demons Easton doomed to hell would go to get revenge.

When the dangers of the Hell threaten Gwen, Easton will do whatever it takes to save her. But as the darkness closes in on them both, will he be able to save himself?

The Selection by Kiera Cass

TheSelection THE SELECTION
by
Kiera Cass
(Website|Twitter)
For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself--and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

1star

For some reason The Selection reminds me of The Red Queen and Hunger Games I know I'm weird, but with its caste system and royalty and all, I can't help it. I loved that book if you didn't know yet.. And I obviously hated The Selection. I hate the messed up attempt for the love triangle, well I hated the romance department of this book overall, it's freaking unbelievable and messed up. There was a lot of hole in the world building department too, thus the very low rating.

WARNING: FROM HERE ON, THIS REVIEW WILL HAVE A LOT OF RANTING. TURN BACK NOW IF YOU LOVE THIS BOOK.

4 Stars

Just look at that cover it's literally too good for my own.. I can't even.. I know I will love this book more that the first.. I just know.. and I am so glad to say that this 2nd installment of kissed by death didn't disappoint in any way. If anything this has surpasses the Inbetween way easily. Sorry Finn, Cash is just way too adorable.

INBETWEEN

(Goodreads|Twitter)
Since the car crash that took her father’s life three years ago, Emma’s life has been a freaky — and unending — lesson in caution. Surviving “accidents” has taken priority over being a normal seventeen-year-old, so Emma spends her days taking pictures of life instead of living it. Falling in love with a boy was never part of the plan. Falling for a reaper who makes her chest ache and her head spin? Not an option.

It’s not easy being dead, especially for a reaper in love with a girl fate has put on his list not once, but twice. Finn’s fellow reapers give him hell about spending time with Emma, but Finn couldn’t let her die before, and he’s not about to let her die now. He will protect the girl he loves from the evil he accidentally unleashed, even if it means sacrificing the only thing he has left…his soul.

3 Stars
"All in good time..."

BE PATIENT. That is about what I can advise. You will need a lot of patience if you are to read this book. I obviously ended up liking this a lot surprisingly, but it took me way too long to get past the few chapters.

TBR Books Tuesday: Confess by Colleen Hoover

Have you ever accidentally walked in a bookstore, thought of looking around just to waste away the time, and then walked out with arms full of books hours later? Yeah, that pretty much sums up the reason why my never ending pile of TBR books, keeps getting higher!

description

I need to pick one up this week to reduce the list.. The question is.. which one?? I am still currently reading Dorothy Must Die Stories, so Wicked Will Rise is out of option yet... Maybe I'll pick up.. Confess.

Contemporary romance isn't really my thing, I usually prefer Fantasy, with a touch of Romance **wink.

But I really really liked CoHo ever since I read that short story Never Never, funny though since it was a collaboration of her and Tarryn, anyway, this book has been making a huge buzz online, so I will definitely give it a shot.

Shifting by Bethany Wiggins

Shifting
SHIFTING
by
Bethany Wiggins
(Website|Twitter)

After bouncing from foster home to foster home, Magdalene Mae is transferred to what should be her last foster home in the tiny town of Silver City, New Mexico. Now that she's eighteen and has only a year left in high school, she's determined to stay out of trouble and just be normal.

Agreeing to go to the prom with Bridger O'Connell is a good first step. Fitting in has never been her strong suit, but it's not for the reasons most people would expect-it all has to do with the deep secret that she is a shape shifter. But even in her new home danger lurks, waiting in the shadows to pounce. They are the Skinwalkers of Navajo legend, who have traded their souls to become the animal whose skin they wear-and Maggie is their next target.

Full of romance, mysticism, and intrigue, this dark take on Navajo legend will haunt readers to the final page.

 ★★★★

This book has been on my To-Read shelf for a long time now. I wasn't really expecting too much when I started reading it out of boredom, and boy did it surprised me. I find it really hard to put down this book as I am always wanting for more action and revelations!

Magdalene Mae or Maggie mae, why can't her nickname be Maggie?, anyway, she's an orphan girl that has been to 12 different foster home since she was 5, and as if life wasn't hard enough as it is, the girl discovered that she's actually a shapeshifter. For me it was pretty cool! I mean, imagine how amazing it can be to be able to shift to an animal to your  liking? Wicked Sick! Except, Maggie Mae's shifting ability actually has a limitation.
"Ever since I started changing, I always looked like Mrs. Montgomery's big orange tabby,my foster mother's pet.Maybe I turn into whatever animal I'm closest to."

DOROTHY MUST DIE
by

(Goodreads|Twitter)

I didn't ask for any of this. I didn't ask to be some kind of hero.

But when your whole life gets swept up by a tornado - taking you with it - you have no choice but to go along, you know?

Sure, I've read the books. I've seen the movies. I know the song about the rainbow and the happy little bluebirds. But I never expected Oz to look like this. To be a place where Good Witches can't be trusted, Wicked Witches may just be the good guys, and winged monkeys can be executed for acts of rebellion. There's still a yellow brick road - but even that's crumbling.

What happened? Dorothy.

They say she found a way to come back to Oz. They say she seized power and the power went to her head. And now no one is safe.

My name is Amy Gumm - and I'm the other girl from Kansas.

I've been recruited by the Revolutionary Order of the Wicked.

I've been trained to fight.

And I have a mission.

★★★★

Welcome to the messed up world of OZ.

First (Book 1 of Live Once Trilogy)

First (Book 1 of Live Once Trilogy)First by Chanda Stafford
My rating: ★★★

Goodreads Sypnosis:

Seventeen-year-old Mira works on a farm in the ruins of Texas, along with all of the other descendants of the defeated rebels. Though she’s given her heart to Tanner, their lives are not their own.

When Socrates, a powerful First, chooses Mira as his Second, she is thrust into the bewildering world of the rich and influential. Will, a servant assigned to assist her, whispers of rebellion, love, and of a darker fate than she’s ever imagined.

With time running out, Mira must decide whether to run to the boy she left behind, the boy who wants her to live, or the man who wants her dead.

My Thoughts:

Thank you to the author, Chanda Stafford for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Be patient. It was a good story, with unique plots and exceptional twists. However, it took me a long time to get over with some of the chapters, but I promise you that everything will get better..

Story:
I was excited to read this just by reading its summary. I've always love dystopian book for I am always fascinated of the possible horrible outcome of our society. Don't get me wrong, I don't really want our future to be horrible, but I believe that it is better to expect for the worst and be prepared..

Ignite Me

Ignite Me (Shatter Me, #3)Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi
My rating: ★★★★★

Goodreads Sypnosis:

The heart-stopping conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Shatter Me series, which Ransom Riggs, bestselling author of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, called “a thrilling, high-stakes saga of self-discovery and forbidden love.”

With Omega Point destroyed, Juliette doesn’t know if the rebels, her friends, or even Adam are alive. But that won’t keep her from trying to take down The Reestablishment once and for all. Now she must rely on Warner, the handsome commander of Sector 45. The one person she never thought she could trust. The same person who saved her life. He promises to help Juliette master her powers and save their dying world . . . but that’s not all he wants with her.

The Shatter Me series is perfect for fans who crave action-packed young adult novels with tantalizing romance like Divergent by Veronica Roth, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, and Legend by Marie Lu. Tahereh Mafi has created a captivating and original story that combines the best of dystopian and paranormal, and was praised by Publishers Weekly as “a gripping read from an author who’s not afraid to take risks.” Now this final book brings the series to a shocking and satisfying end.

My Thoughts:

I know.. My supposed to be review for this book has been long over due. I've read Ignite Me last February 2014, right after it came out, and I've read it for like 5 times already as of this writing. I just can't think and come up of beautiful words to describe how amazing this book is. every time I attempt to start doing a review to this beautiful book, it seems that I am unable to collect my thoughts. I am so afraid I won't be able to do justice on this book. I just can't get enough of my feels.

This will be a pretty long review since I'll be writing all of my rants and thoughts for the whole series..

Goodreads Sypnosis:

Book Review: Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

Hush Hush(Hush, Hush #1)

by
Becca Fitzpatrick
Genre: Young-adult, Paranormal, Angels, Romance
A SACRED OATH
A FALLEN ANGEL
A FORBIDDEN LOVE

Romance was not part of Nora Grey's plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how hard her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch comes along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Patch draws Nora to him against her better judgment.

But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is and seems to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.

For she is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost Nora her life.

2star

I really really thought I would love this book. I wasn't expecting too much from this after reading Fallen series which I DNF'ed after painfully pushing myself to atleast finished reading the first book, but I was hoping that it would be pretty decent seeing its high rating than fallen, and also, a lot of my friends here in goodreads have liked it...

Maybe it's not the book.. maybe it's me.. Maybe this isn't just my cup of tea, but I've always love YA paranormal angel books, you know, Angelfall, Unearthly, Daughter of Smoke & Bone? fallen and hush hush were waaaay tooo far away from the awesomeness of those book. So if you've read those book before this...

description

This is the story of Nora, just an average highschool girl, whose life was change when their biology teacher thought of changing seats. She then gain a new seat mate named Patch. After meeting him, her life has been thrown into abnormality and chaos. Her life suddenly is in danger, turns out she's not that average at all...

Characters: The worst thing in this book.
Nora. I really hate her in an intense way! She's like acting all innocent but get all flirty with Patch every opportunity she gets! What I really can't stand is a stupid, selfish and ignorant heroine!

description

Patch. I have mixed feelings for him. He's creepy alright, more like a stalker, not in a sweet way but in a.. well creepy way. But he also have his own brilliant moments:

"Thinking?"
"A process by which I use my brain to make rational decision"

Vee. She was alright... At first. But I started hating her when she was attacked, and it's like nothing happened. She just brush it off, and continued dating. She was so into dating, it was like it's the first time having a boy taken interest on her, she's so desperate, no wonder she was friends with Nora. **Rolls eyes**

Romance. I dont hate Instalove, love triangles or any YA cliche's, if anything I look forward to it, because I believe that the outcome, if it's believable or not will depends on the author's way of writing. So this wasn't one of the reason why I was disappointed on this book.In fact this is more like,InstaLUST! I can't even feel any romance brewing between the two of them. Sorry, no ship for this fandom.

Story. What I just didn't like much is the fact that everyone seems to be a villain or the bad guy! though I like the action and mystery on some part of the book that's why it earned 2 stars from me, but still isn't enough for to convince me to pick up the next book..
